If the pump doesn't have a cone on it the front to back movement is perfectly normal. The cone helps push the shaft forward and take up a little of the play.

Right on i was worried about all the front to back slop. I guess i should put a new wear ring in the plastic pump it looks good however its age is unknown. How can i post pics via mobile?

This is my only running one at the moment. And yes, it's missing a few things. It'll be for sale soon.

So I figured I'd contribute with my recently almost refurbished need a few more things 96 XP.

First off HUGE HUGE THANK YOU to Matt Braley where I sourced almost every aftermarket part from, who has answered numerous questions, even dumb ones politely and quickly and without who I doubt this particular ski would've ever made it back to thr water without him.

1996 Seadoo XP
Pro Taper Bars
Rep 3 button holder
SX finger throttle
SPX single gauge hood (wanna get it dipped Carbon fiber soon)
Worx Sponsons
R&D 3 degree tabs
Solas 87/84 nozzles
Skat trak 14.5/22.5 swirl
97 SPX waterbox
Rossier Pipe (thanks Nick!) 125 main/160 stinger
43cc dome Billet head
40mm GroupK carbs, primer, rebuilt by Braley
R&D Pro Flow flame arrestor
Jetworks FCV
Blacktip seat
Blacktip mats (Black Friday!)
Solas intake grate
MSD rev limiter
TTO tach

I'd like to upgrade to umi steering and try out a Jet dynamics grate eventually. Happy as hell otherwise.

Also will eventually get my pipe and flame arrestor powder coated if I could decide on a color.

It's done 60 @ 7100ish rpm on the Colorado River not quite glass. I mostly ride in chop though due to the crowds in Laughlin and it's got acceleration for days!!

She's not the prettiest thing but I certainly get a lot of compliments and I've had no issues running on 91 with Matt's expert help.

Hope you guys enjoy!

I have a chance to buy this with a trailer for $600 with the trailer. 1998 spx but it doesn't run. The lady doesn't know why. What do you guys think?

I with them. I paid $700 for mine with trailer and it was in way worse shape than that. If you don't buy it maybe I will lol.

You won't regret that purchase. Those 98's are lightened from the factory a bit also. It was a racer's request thing. Notice on the insides there is not a lot of excess green glue for example.

He's just asking too much. Beautiful ski though, needs to back off about a Grand and I'd buy it for the new place

Amen. Takes a very special guy to pay 3k ish for an X4 even if it was loaded with expensive mods. Don't get me wrong many of us have that or more in it but it's like boiling a frog(1st you put it in the water then you turn the heat up). Cleanliness and originality are on his side though.

That ski is worth more than $1750. Maybe not to a guy that doesn't care it's a rare 99 SPX that is minty clean, but there is a market of buyers who care about those things an recognize it's value.

I sold a mint 95 XP800 with heavy mods for $6k probably 5 years ago. I have also been offered $3k for my resto 95XP800 on two occasions. His asking price isn't far off, just to you cheap assess lol :)
