Hello guys and gals I’m gonna have to rebuild the starter on my 98 gs. I’ve searched for a video with no luck. Looking for tips on removing the starter. Any insight appreciated. I’ve removed and rebuilt the starter on my gtx but this one looks like a nightmare in comparison.
Thanks

I’ve got the rebuild part down was hoping for some insight on getting the starter out of my Gs it is a 720 and looks like it’s going to de a pain

Leave the ground connected to the starter,,,disconnect at the battery,,.and in the long run...disconnect the exhaust half pipe...you will have far better access to the 2 bolts holding the starter on.

A long (6 inch, or 12 inch), 3/8 inch extension will be very handy...(I believe those bolts are 13's),,,use a mirror and a super strong flash light to look in there before you start to get a good idea of what the situation is,,,,then you can use the appropriate tools.,,,get everything out of the way as needed for easier access from underneath, and from the top side.

ive removed and installed my starter on my 93 GTX like 10 times now in the past month.
I can get it out in less than 5 minutes and about 10 to put it in.
Dont need to remove the exhaust, just need a long extention.
