My speedometer doesn't work on my Challenger. It will once in a while, if I am lucky, bounce around a little bit. I have checked the little "wheel" that I think is for the speedo, which spins fine. Any way to fix? (Nothing is unplugged, I checked).

You need to determine if the paddle wheel is bad or the gauge is bad. i think the procedure is in the shop manual. Just because the wheel spins doesnt mean anything. The wheel spinning creates an electrical signal. You can measure the signal to determine if its good. you can find used sensors fairly cheap

Sorry for the late reply. I bet it is the sensors, can you link me to one that may work? I am not sure what sensors work and what ones don't.

you need part no 278000970 Only seadoo has it listed for 116. I dont see a used one right now, but there are other part numbers that cross reference. ill see what i can find.

I just happen to have a new sensor with a used paddle wheel its part no. 278000276, its for early not digital, the wire leads are blk/yel-blk/red-pur. If this will work you can have have it for 75.00 shipped.

I just checked the sensor I have is a 3 wire, it's listed for a 96 Challenger not a 97, the 3rd. wire is for a water temp. connection, so it still may work. Not sure. Probably the best thing to do is to check the color leads on your boat, if they match up it should work.
