and was the one tightening down the big backing nuts on the gauges.

Any suggestions on how to get those off so I can pull the gauges out?

the last set of gauges I pulled (last weekend) I had NO use for the hood so I used my own special tool to access the nuts...

I just cut a big azz hole right in the top, and had much better access that way.

I looked everywhere for the skinny 5.5 driver to take the hood apart and couldn't find the dam thing, after 5 minutes I gave up and said screw it and pulled out the wheel. Saved the deflector off the hood and threw the rest in the trash bin.

Skelator was the one responsible for tightening them until 2001 when he left the company to work for Kawasaki, but he used the tool posted.
