Slip Mooring?

There are various posts suggesting being cautious about leaving these boats in the water, and many members using lifts where available. Shop manuals recommend not "storing" the boat in the water.

Is it not advisable to use in-water slips for seasonal use on a Speedster 200? I'm currently just doing so for 3-4 months with garage storage in the off season, and check the bilge regularly. Thanks for accommodating the dumb arse question.

I don't leave my PWC in the water for more than a few days. Rain water can run down between the seat and hull. The reason being there is no bilge pump, so any water in the hull stays there until the siphon pumps it out when you ride.

Don't know that much about SeaDoo boats, is this the same case? No bilge pump?

So I ignored some good advice from this board from good folks with much more knowledge and experience. This may be russian roulette and lightning could strike. There were some sleepless nights initially, and a few shaky calls into the marina for visual checks to confirm she hadn't been taking on water.

But, thankfully it went well. After having the S200 in a wet slip for about 10 weeks, there was no sinking, no blisters, not even excess bilge water. The hull had minor film build up from our cold, fresh water lake, but it all came clean in 20 minutes with a brush, hot water, and dish soap.

In this case, a summer boat slip worked out well for us and we got 2X the usage outta her since it was always a no-fuss launch. She'll get a lovingly applied triple wax job in thanks.

YMMV.

Edit: Crap, just saw a recent post where the poor guy woke up to a swamped boat after just one night in slip.
