Brand new ski(4hours) gtx155. With the slightest movement of the lanyard it shuts off. I'm guessing the post is bad? If I hold the key up tight it runs fine. Been towed in twice already.

Clean post and key with a pencil eraser. If that don't work try squeezin the key's contacts,(thru the rubber cup) closing them up a bit with pliers...not too much...just a bitty bit.

Also make sure it is nice and straight to the DESS post. One of my skis is a GTX and it is mounted on a tilt column. The DESS is at a weird angle. Not at all what you would expect. Everyone that rides it can't get the 2 beep until I tell them to physically look at it so you can see the angle. Then no issues,,,

Thanks for the tips but didn't change anything. Slightest little movement in the lanyard shuts it off. Pretty annoying especially with such nice weather. I check all the connections and fuses. Everything seems tigh and clean. Not sure exactly how the dess works but hopefully it's an easy fix.

Have them replace the lanyard as it should be covered. A good test to do is, wrap the rubber end a bit with black tape. Make it fit more snug. See if that solves the issue.

The DESS post is magnetic. If it is a slight movement, that shuts off the engine, then your post is bad. Once you make contact with the DESS, the magnetic attraction that sends the signal from the security chip makes communication, anything that shuts it off without you removing it, is a weak magnet. So, the post would need to be replaced.
