Should my 2007 RXT go faster then 60mph wide open?

SC resistance sounds about right then. 2007 RXT should have OEM ceramic SC clutch washers though.

Did you ever inspect your jet pump's impeller and wear ring for damage? Dings on the leading edge of blades, gouges in wear ring, both reduce pump efficiency and top speed.

No I havent but Im sure this is, or is one of, the reasons for the lack of the few mph.

It is possible, since you just bought it with 187 hours on it, that the previous owner already did a rebuild, you should give the previous owner a call and see if they did that. Normally it would still be throwing the SC maintenance code if he didn't(unless he hooked it up and cleared the code.) I agree with Seadooman55, its sounding a bit like a wear ring issue, from what i have heard.

The 07 had the adjustable trim, right? Could having it in the wrong position effect top speed?

I spoke with the original owner about that. He bought it brand new. Never had anything done to it beside having the oil changed. It does say "maintenace" once in a while I think when I plug in the key. He gave me the original bill of sale too with is name on it.
