I was looking on the seadoo impeller reference chart:

http://www.seadoosource.com/impellerref.html

I saw that my stock impeller was fixed 18.8 aluminum, and that the spi (also 587 engine equipped) had a 14/21 SS impeller. I was wanting to put a fresh wear ring on my 94 seadoo sp sometime in future and was wondering what kind of performance difference would there be by swapping over the spi's 14/21 SS impeller while I am in there? I've seen some used ones in excellent condition for cheap, much less than aftermarket alternatives.

Getting away from an aluminum impeller will always give a performance boost, in both bottom end, and top speed. The reason is... the stainless impellers are thinner, and have a smaller hub. In turn... it will move more water, for the same amount of power.

Great thanks, didn't think of that but makes sense! Posted a WTB 94-95 spi impeller, already have new wear ring neo seal and impeller tool on the way and will check bearings when I have it apart :)

When I first saw this I thought you were talking about spending 200-300 hundred on an aftermarket impeller, and I was going to tell you not to do it. However I was wrong, what you are proposing is an excellent idea at a reasonable price. So I would say do it, you might want to PM minnetonka4me or 99spxxx, they will probably have a good used one at a better price than Ebay.
