Seadoo Shop says they can fix with tune up...Can I?

When you turn the ski on the maint light flashes for a second then goes away when you are sitting still. When you give it gas, the Maint light comes back on and goes away when you let off the gas and idle again. It has around 72-75 hours on it. Cant remember which exactly off hand. Everything seems fine, just untill you gas it.

Thoughts??

check volts at battery, while hold'n 5500rpm....13.5-14.5 volts, is what you want. If under/higher, replace the rectifier.

I am not questioning you, i just am clueless about mechanics of this. If it starts right up in the water and idles fine, would that still have something to do with the battery?? And, what is and does the rectifier do? Meaning, what will i be replacing and fixing? Thanks A ton.

inna sense, its the "alternator" of the electronics. Converts the ac current to dc. If the rectifier bad, causes a "stumble" thru the system. In relation, driving ur truck under a bridge with radio on, and you get static thru speakers. Same scenerio.

If rectifier bad, its either not putting enough to battery or too much to battery. It causes the problems, when/above in water at high rpms.
