I didn’t put any sealI had the same problem with my 97 GSX, fixed it by replacing the wear ring. Did you put a neoprene seal between the pump and the hull?
No a
I didn’t put any seal
It’s cavitation, and can be caused by excessive clearance between the wear ring and impeller, debris lodged in the pump somewhere, or air leaking into pump. The carbon seal is a likely candidate since you’ve replaced the wear ring, but post a picture of your impeller first. Let’s see if it’s worn or bent...
You are correct but his hull is yellow and the pump looks like a 140mm and both would not be a 98' GSX which is what is confusing.....It says its a 98 gsx limited thought those only game with the 155mm pump?
What ski are we working on here?
A 1998 GSX doesn't have a yellow hull.
The pump looks like a 140mm not a 155mm?
If it isn't a 155mm pump the seal above will not work.
problem sterted when I started the ski in very shollow water almost touching the beach ground and I tried to accelerate,,aftr that immediately the problem started which associated with high temp as well,,,then I changed the wearring and seal which was not helpfull ,,,yesterday I found that the cooling tubes was full of sand (obstruction 100%) aftr cleaning it still the same conditionAre your revs limited? If not your not in limp mode. And this should not keep you from only going 5mph....4000 rpm should be about 30. Depending on your size. It sucks that it wasnt as somthing as simple as the seal. How does it run through the range of rpm and what is that range. Your not giving us very much to work off of. Did you do somthing to cause this issue? The impeller and wear ring look good but at this point im at a loss unless your impeller is fu*****....
Thank u for replay, out of water the jet runs great and smooth the RPM can reach more than 7000RPM but in water can reach 3400 rpm onlyYou may have engine problems too, but if the engine is really running 3500 RPM then you should be getting more than 5MPH. Something is wrong on the back end with your pump/impeller/seal/etc.
