Sea Doo HX Shock Outer Bellows

Been looking relentlessly for the discontinued outer shock bellows for an HX like I have been? If you have you realize the frustration like I have after sitting hours on the phone and internet that they are nowhere to be found rendering a perfectly good sea doo useless because of a $45 part! :banghead: All I see when searching is people looking for these boots. If you know where to find the boots then please let me know! Instead of parting out your doo or hauling it to the dump like i have thought of doing I came up with a solution that will get you, and has already gotten me back out on the water and enjoying what a sweet machine the HX is. I dont have a picture of it yet I will by next week. Just getting a little anxious in sharing this. Gotta head to the cottage to pick up my machine. Basically, what I came up with replaces the seat shock for a solid mounted 2" dia aluminum shaft which mounts to the bottom of the seat and into the hull the same way the shock does and utilizes the same mounts. Welded to the shaft is an aluminum flange and gasket that is then bolted to the hull where the boot used to attach to making a perfect water tight seal. Better than sitting on the shore no?? This isnt a hokey set up either. I am a licensed welder and this unit is all professionally tig welded and polished aluminum and actually looks pretty sweet under the seat and is very quick and simple install, and weighs only a fraction of what the old shock used to weigh. I would like to get some feedback on this if there is any HX owners out there as frustrated as I have been wasting half a summer on a torn boot. Let me know what you think!! Will start building more right away!

Drew.

Do you have the SKi Shaft ( Pole that sits between the back seats and engine compartment)? If so, do you think that they are universal and that i could use it for my 1997 speedster?

wsm will be selling replacement shock boots in about 2-3 months they are already on order just wanter for the manufacture to get the out. i believe they will only be in black. btw your design sounds cool.

Every time I call WSM they tell me a few more months, can't wait that long.
