well i went out today for an amazing ride.. started at 11am and we just pulled back into the driveway now... water was perfect and weather was in the 90s...

as i was pulling into the dock where i launch.. there was a police boat, a coast guard boat, a crime scene police van, and countless detectives and cops... "apparently" a family was riding in their fishing boat along the state channel when a man on a jet ski side swiped the boat. the father on the fishing boat had a massive heart attack in the state channel and the coast guard came to the rescue.. they towed the boat back to my dock and proceeded to try and revive the man.. unfortunately the man passed away at the dock...

theres rumors and speculations that alcohol was involved.. although nothing has been confirmed and most if it is hearsay.. im sure we will find out more once the story develops further

its a big wake up call.. i am no where near irresponsible on the water and i ride with respect for others but, unfortunately others arent so aware of their condition and surroundings its very easy to look one way and have something happen from the other way...

my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the man who witnessed this horrible accident.

No matter who is at fault, someone always suffers.

Things like this are bound to happen just due to the nature of things. It is unfortunate though.

Wow that is really sad. So the guy on the jetski was fine, but the father on the boat died? Im guessing he got pretty mad at the jet skier and that did him in.

I know pretty much everyone on this forum is probably a very good doo'er and probably very careful, but it is a shame that there are so many other wreckless jet skiers out there because I do see them all of the time and they give the rest of us a really bad image.

thats exactly where i was going with my first post..

i always heard about it every now and then but it doesnt really have the same effect as seeing it in person..
