I have a 2007 215 RXT supercharged ski.
At 60 hours, the supercharger went out. Took it to the mech. Apparently there is a ceramic washer that breaks. You have to buy a new supercharger kit for about $300.00 that includs a new STEEL washer.

At 64 hours, the engine blew. No commpression in the middle cylinder.
A new engines is thousands, including labor costs.

From what I am hearing, this is a common issue with supercharged skis.

Have othes had this problem?
What has Sea Doo done about it.

They are impossisble to get hold of.

Has any legal action been undertaked to correct this design flaw and get monetary compensation?
A ski should last more than 64 hrs. No matter how it is ridden.

It's the wife's ski that was ridden very "softly"

That stinks.... Common problem. Not a cheap repair for sure.

I am looking to get that exact ski and change out the ceramic washer first thing.

Not sure if Seadoo will do anything about it...

ya i dont think sd will help out. as he said, a very common prob. the ceramic washer shells into the oil pumps and clogs the valleys and holes. this in turn starves the engine for oil in those areas as pieces travel through the oil system causing havoc. $2200 for an sbt engine and 295 for the sc rebuild kit. gotta love sea doo!!!!!

There was lots of talk about this being a dealer recall and many others have said when the washer fails you must remove the oil pan to clear out the remnants or the motor blows, seems like you need to have a long talk with the mechanic who did only part of the repairs.

I heard in California they changed the washer out if the machine was still under warrenty.

I wish...I live in CA and I was told by 2 service centers that they would charge for replacing the washers. Both said it was $600 -$700 for the job.
