RXT only reaching 7500 rpm

Hello,

Just got a new to me 2008 RXT with 129 hours, with Supercharger rebuilt at 120 hours. I am new to these 4 strokes, had to sell my GSX because the lake we are on does not allow them. Anyways had the RXT out yesterday, top rpm's were only 7500, with speedo reading 62 mph. I understand these things should be reaching 7800 rpm. Any ideas to what I should look for? The ski did run great, other than not reaching max rpm. Water temp was 71 deg, ambient 82 deg, at 1000 foot elevation.

take a look to be sure your oil level is not to high, should be between the two lines.too much oil will decrease performance.

I checked the oil on the trailer, but will recheck on the water tomorrow.

Another observation that I had. I changed the plugs and the insulator was quite white. I am wondering if it is getting enough fuel? I am new to these 4-tec engines. Lots of learning to do. Thanks for the help.

Yep. Try and stay away from the ethanol by running premium.

Lucky you have that option. Most stations have ethanol in all grades here in ny. If they do happen to have ethanol free, it's price is jacked up!
