Running with fuel turned off

Two weeks ago launched both sea doos without turning on the fuel. Both ran for about ten minutes through idle area and out into the bay before the GTI started to slow down. Circled back to see what was wrong. Daughter asked about switch pointing to red on selector. Checked the GTX and it was off too. So how long should one run without fuel turned on, or are both selectors bad and letting fuel through when off and probably air when on.

It all depends on the engine and throttle position. Don't worry about it, just turn it on.

You got lucky it just ran on what was in the lines.
Usually it should have died after 30 seconds.
