Hi all. I have bought a non starting 1993 Seadoo XP with the Rotax 657 engine in it.

I see it has a new starter motor fitted, but I am not sure it's the correct one for the jetski.

Could someone confirm that looking from the back of the jetski, the engine driveshaft turns anti-clockwise?

Thanks anyone who can help!

Cheers Dennis, that's one thing I can eliminate then! It's weird, as I have good compression, good spark, fuel getting in......What is odd is there doesn't seem to be much sucking from the carbs, so maybe a pipe is off somewhere then

The 657 is the correct engine for the 93XP, if you're positive that you have good compression (in the range of 140-150psi), spark, and fuel, I think the next place I would look is the rotary valve. You could have a rotary valve timing issue usually caused by a damaged rotary valve gear.
