Last weekend we rolled both of our jet skis. Once rolled back both were running okay but had water in engine bay. The first “only” seems to have a problem with the instrument panel. You can see the messages but only very faint. I would have thought if I fried it it wouldn’t read at all? On the second one when I put the key in it now won’t do the double beep but it will still start. But once it starts it is immediately in forward and I can’t get it into neutral or reverse. And I also can’t change it into sport mode. Obviously it seems like an electrical issue but any thoughts on where to start?

My 2007 GTI SE 155 one was tipped over, for how long I don’t know, but it was a few minutes… my kids and their friends… But my cluster stopped working shortly after, like within a day or two. The LCD was mostly or completely no working, but the ski ran fine. I had to buy a new cluster and have it married to the ski.

I don’t have any good advice for your second ski that doesnt have two beeps and immediately goes into forward, etc. I suppose I would try to open as many wire harness connectors as possible and blow them out with some shop compressed air, if you have some. Just making sure they are dry and then reconnect. Other than that, it would require some complex diagnostics that is out of my league. Good luck!

Thank you for the advice! Yes on the instrument panel it stumped me that it was working a little bit (faint messages) rather than just being completely out. Helps to understand you had the same result.
