Replace a 2cycle with a 4stroke engine.

Has anyone evaluated replacing a 4stroke engine in a boat that had a 2stroke/2cycle engine. I have an older 2cycle sportster boat and would like the idea of running a 4 stroke engine. Is it cost prohibitive or not physically feasible? Thanks in advance!!

If you could find a wrecked seadoo would be cool. The cost to replace the Jet Pump assy and all the electronics would be real expensive other wise.

I replaced the 1200cc 2 stroke in my 2000 Yamaha GPR with a Sea-Doo 4-Tec 4 stroke SC motor. runs 80+ with the stock IC

I am looking to do the same thing for my 99' challenger. Is there enough room in the engine compartment to even accomplish this?
