So you wouldn't be worried about not hitting 8300 RPM and being down that 400 RPM. I have just been concentrating on that number of 8300.I hope that's it.

A stock ski isn't going to hit 8300. Your goal should be 8050-8100. Even I don't turn 8300 with some mods unless I switch to the factory impeller.

I have factory impelar if I can only get to were I am would that be OK?it is all stock. I am going to start it up and idle tied to dock and spray starting fluid at each tube connection to see if rpm pick up to check for any leaks.other then that I am lost to get it there. will be doing this early afternoon.

Lake tested can get 7900 rpm. sprayed starter fluid on hoses no leaked.the exhaust temp wasn't on all the way.so code and engine symbol off.going to run this weekend to see if it gets better and put new gas in to see if that helps

Looks like you're going to be just fine. Some cooler temps and fresh gas will get you there.

Point being...the limiter...isn't 8100 on the '06 and up skis. And if I couldn't hit the limiter...or even get close to it...I'd be looking to find out why. Alt...Temp...Salt....Humidity...Barometric pressure...wrong prop...opas hangin down...restriction in air intake...TB not opening.

I've never lost 3-400rpm because of summer heat...before I changed thermos.

Have you ever heard of RAD?

I bought this used all stock.it would only pull 8000 to 8050 when I got it 2 weeks ago so we did supercharger to prevent problems as it had 56 hours on it .after that you have read what and were I have done.I am at a 1000' elevation.I will check throttle body opening.opas are up now I assume they would stay up when running. no restrictions in intake unless a hose is collapsing at high rpm.any other ideas to check

You've blocked the opas up? Because...they only go up (when working properly)when the pump supplies enough water pressure to lift them.

Here's a video that sort of explains what he means since I know the question is coming.

Seadoo is not going to send them all out the door banging the limiter at 8300. There would be alot of pissed people because every lightweight rider and rider in cool water/air temps would sit on the limiter if they didnt repitch to keep rpms down. Most at sea level-1000ft will see 8000 on a good day and a great day 81 and bad day 7900. Throw in heavier/multiple riders and lose another hundred rpms. A tuner looking for every possible last mph will play with impeller pitch and adjust to their weight/typical riding area to run 8200-8250.

I'd ride it and enjoy it unless you are into competition or pulling your hair out for 1-2 mph.

It's pretty common for a 2 stroke to hit the limiter, like the XP or the RX or anything with a 951 in it. It was ok then. Are 4 bangers that different?

If everything else is good with a ski that is on the limiter constantly, you are missing out on mph and need to repitch to bring rpm down.

Assuming all Is the same woth jet drives, im still a little new to them, when I prop my boat I want it right on the verge of the limit, usually minus ab 50-100 rpm at WOT. So the numbers sound pretty close to me depending on rider weight, gear load, fuel level, and yes even aor and water temp

Thanks for info on OPAS mine must not work. They are in up position and you can't push them down with a lot of force at least there stuck in up.Thanks for replies I am going to ride it and enjoy with family now.Only thing I am going to check is impellar and wear ring. This is one thing I don't like about buying used you never know what you get or how it's suppose to run but could not justify cost of new one.Again thanks for all help and replies!

Also want to thank JOE Z at PWC MUSCLE for helping me out really went over and beyond.I highly recommend them awesome service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
