Ok so I have a 1998 Sea doo xp limited that I just rebuilt the carbs on the problem i am having is tht it keeps bacfiring and wont start. I did however get it to start this morning out of water hooked to the hose. I changed all the grey crap lines rebuilt carbs and clean baffle put all back together finally got it to start and against my better judgement I shut it off after about two minutes of snapping the throttle. The throttle was very responsive so I thought sweet all done. WRONG! shut the machine off and now wont start. pulled the plug and a gush of fuel comes screaming out when cranks......def getting fuel now but way too much help before I trade it for a Kawacrappy!!!

Pop-off tester

My guess is you cut corners! Did you leak-down test the carbs after you re-assembled them? Both carbs need syncronized, both butterfly's and the Pop-off
neads to be within 1 psi of each other, checked separately.

The pop-off test after assembly means pumping the pressure into the carbs, just
under where they "pop off" and hold the pressure about 5 minutes. This tells you
the needles are correctly seated. Your carbs are leaking raw gas into the lower case
and out the exhaust port, or out *plugs if ya have them out!

My guess is your needle lever is now depressed, as you would have found out if you
had leak-down tested before you installed them. You now have a "do-over". Good Luck! Bills86e
