I bought the xp about 5 years ago and got a lot of good use out of it before the engine seized up. It has been sitting for two years and I am ready to make a move on it.
The last thing i did with it was pull the engine and inspect the damage. I pulled the cylinder head off and found the flywheel side piston got chewed up and broke the case where the two cases join. I have access to a pretty nice machine shop but they don't do much engine work. I was thinking about trying to weld the broken piece back on and milling the flat surface. (any comments). Im not try to rig this thing but i am on a budget seeing how the other parts I have looked at are gonna cost a fortune.
Can anyone give me some pointers on where to start, what to look for and just a basic overview of rebuilding the 720.
I also want to paint the ski. My brother has knowledge on painting cars but he has never messed with any surfaces like a seadoo. Any methods that work well??
Thanks guys
