pulling a wakeboard

I get pulled up with mine every weekend. Started with my 220 lb butt, now down to 190 2 months later. Seems to be easier to hop up now:reddevil:

But it pulls me up within a couple seconds and I probably don't travel 10' before I am completely planed.

Be sure wear ring is in good shape so you don't have slippage.

Where in Houston are you riding? We hit Lake Houston almost every weekend.

well my boat has been running like crap b/c i have been mixing gas wrong. previous owner disconnected oil resevoir and you have to mix manually, of course i have been doing the ratio wrong and fowling spark plugs...

not supposed to mix 40:1 i guess...

i ride out at lake houston also... mainly in the river in Kingwood.

I thought 40:1 was correct...

We put in at Deussen Park (FREE) then depending on the wind, wakeboard near the dam on windy days, or in a cove just south of the railroad bridge on calm days. Then hang at the beach just north of that cove.

Since Hurricane Ike, I find too many logs and stuff in the the water north of the 1960 bridge, so we tend to stay south in the deeper water.

i have a buddy who got me one of those Kingwood stickers so i put in on the river... water is always calm... little crowded but calm

Yeah, it is protected from most directions of wind.

The K sticker is pretty cool. You get free launch and parking with that?

make sure, the RV assy, has oil to it, whether they "looped" the system, or just blocked-off the line to the injection pump...

yeah, no parking charge or anything like that... just gets pretty crowded and very shallow. though that isn't a problem w/ our boats.

If you get it running good, look out for us below the bridges. Same boat. Easy to identify us, since we are either wakeboarding behind it, or drinking beer at the beach.

Come and introduce yourself. Share a beverage

i will do that for sure. i am going to drop it in at Ducene Park tomorrow morning to see if i can get a better idea of where the leak is coming from. going to see if i can find the scupper valve local this afternoon.

you guys need to come north!!! Seems like im the only speedster on Texoma LOL!!!

Ive been boarding behind the speedster since I picked it up, and I have really been toying with filling the ski locker with 200-300lb fat sac and adding another 100 to the front anchor cabinet to see how the wake changes and performance of the boat..

My biggest issue is bow rise.. cant stand it..

The wife has some college work to do tomorrow, but we will likely be at Deussen Park Sunday.

Let me know how that ballast works out. If it works, I will get my 300 lb brother in law to ride in the nose seat and if that works, I may buy some water bags.

I am not sure if the hull shape of our boats will put out a wake even with more weight. I have had 4 people in my boat, with 3 over 200 lbs, and it still put out very little wake. (I know, WAY over Coast Guard weight limit, so please don't turn me in!)

Try West Marine for a Ball Scupper.

http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wc...L=true&storeNum=6&subdeptNum=502&classNum=698

$13...

I don't see why not. It is a common item.

Do you have a West Marine near you? There should be one or some other marine supply store on the Spring/Conroe side of town.

There is one down here in Surfside.

I know the Boater's Supply in clear lake shut down, but the Kemah West Marine is still open. Call and give them the part number and see if they have it in stock.

By the way, not sure where you live and how close this is to you, but I also put in at times at Good Times Marina just below the dam on the San Jac River. Even with high winds, it is good skiing on much of it because it is low below the trees and protected. Here is a pic of what it looked like on a 25 mph South wind day...

It was a bit choppy once you got around the bend and a mile or so up- or down-stream, but on this bend and south to the next beach, it was pretty smooth.

Scupper?...

you think anyone in houston would carry this? or something like it?

I know if you live around trees that drop acorns and leaves, this scupper design will stop up pretty easy. I just finished work on a boat that had one. I had to take it off and blow all the trash out.

I installed a PVC ball valve in mine. That way, when I get water in the boat and am preparing to go on plane, I reach into the engine compartment and open it. But, I've never had to do that yet. The only time I open it is when it's parked beside the dock, in case it rains........

I'll have to take a pix........Scooper, remind me if I forget.....

You sure 40:1 is wrong? Ask around before you toast your engine. Could just be running rich and fouling plugs

i have been running it like that and it has not been working. i am gong to run it out and try 50:1 and see what happens...
