It’s not a hard job. Pull the steering cable, pull the 4 bolts holing the nozzle, pull the 4 bolts holding the pump to the shoe, and you will have it out. Then, pull the three screws holding the cone on, put the tail of the pump shaft in a vice, and unscrew your impeller using an impeller tool. From there… it depends on how bad the bearing is seized. I changed out my impeller, and re sealed my shoe in under 2 hours.
Lastly… no, you don’t have to pull the shoe unless you want to reseal it, but you should go buy a new gasket that goes between the pump and the shoe from your local dealer. (about 6 bucks)
