HI all, I am new to PWCs and Winterizing a 98 GTX-RFI, I have the manual, and did what it tells me to do (pinch the clear hose on the magneto return and the engine supply hose, then fill from the engine return hose)...I get antifreeze out from the pee hole in the back that comes off the exhaust elbow....is that all? seems too easy???

why do you not full from the engine supply hose and run some of the antfreeze through the engine like I do on the inboard engines I have?

How critical is the fogging fluid? I didnt have any, can I do that part afterward? How long can I run this out of the water? I was told by the old owner only a second or two.

I have read some about a flush kit that is available....would that make things easier to winterize and run on land? where can I get one?

Thanks for all the help, I am on Canandaigua Lake in NY and it was a fun ride this summer so I am really interested in getting this right so the SeaDoo is ready for next year.

The antifreeze is pretty simple process. Long as you do what the manual suggests. Always Fog the engine for storage, and do it after the antifreeze. You can check ebay or your dealer for a kit to run the machine on land a little longer, tho you probably wont ever use it.
Running the engine 10-30 sec should be fine. But dont push your luck. There is NO cooling out of the water. But youll have plenty of time to get the fog spray in the engine.

newbie update

OK, I finally figured out the 98 GTX-RFI comes with the adapter on the pump to just hook up a hose and run it (OHH thats what thats for...duh) so I ran it for 5 min or so and fogged it well, pulled the plugs and sprayed some of the fogger in there as well. Then I pinched off the magneto hose and the water intake hose and filled the water RETURN HOSE with antifreeze untill it was coming out the exhaust...I never seemed to see it in the magneto hose like the book said I would...it didn't take much, maybe 1/2 gallon...this just does not seem right though and I dont want to freeze anything...can someone please be of more help here...how does the cooling water go from the cylinder head into the exhaust risor and then into the engine? does it flow back through the risor into the block to cool the block? then on to the magneto ? if thats the case how does it go back out ??? I am missing something here...I know it PLEASE HELP!!!!
