First of all I did not know seadoo made plastic intake grates... So I ordered a stocker of of fleabay and I DID not know it was plastic and did not say so on description so i got it today and to my surprise its plastic! Should I put this thing on my 800 powered spx??? Will the grate be able to handle it? It looks exactly like the metal stocker... Just don't want to put it on and it will get ripped out...

I guess if it is a genuine seadoo part it will be fine. Some plastics and polys are more durable than steel! Interesting I didn't know this either....

my 96 spi had a plastic one (don't know if it's oem original), 1 of 4 bolt heads had broken off, so it wasn't on perfect, then before I know it, 2 of them had popped off, and then it was hanging down, and before I know it, the whole piece had broken off, with the exeption of the 2 front mounts. so i pulled one off a 94 xp, and I was pleasantly surprised it was METAL!!!

I just took my stock grate off my 96 xp a few weeks ago and it was plastic. Thats normal I think it will be fine.
