Pick Up Tubes?

Hi all,

I have 2 1989 SP's. I found that the fuel pick up lines in the tank rotted off in one. Did those lines have ball valves or filters on them? Also, while trying to put new lines on, the pickup tubes cracked apart. Bert's Motorcycle Mall says the parts are not available. Can anyone tell me where to get parts? I found a few on EBAY but they want lots of money and they could be cracking like mine.

Thanks for any help.

Sorry you didn't get any replies and sorry I cant help you with your dilema
Sometimes when you post late at night or early morning so many other post come in that it knocks yours down on the list and people don't see it.

I had the same thing happen to me when I first started posting.

So I am bumping it back up to the top and I hope someone who knows more than me can help you out.

It really is a great site

The lines dangle in tank I think. You can get the weighted filter at a mower shop.

Hey noob ... you didn't even give it a day. People have lives, and don't check all the time.

Remember... this site is FREE. People like me, Snipe, chester, and so on (the pro's on the board) volunteer our time. If you want an answer fast, take it to your local dealer and pay $80/hr for your answer.

Bashing the site is a good way to not get answers.

Sorry. With all the viewers, I thought I'd get a quicker response. Some forums have an "Emergency Room", where you can get quick answers if your hands are dirty.

I've since gotten parts off EBAY and replaced them.
