So i ordered an electronic box for my boat and got the wrong part from http://www.seadoopartsnation.com/?gclid=CO31sN3x2aECFV195QodDD-vIw

the guy tells me that i should have given my hull number to their parts guy to make sure i got the right part...well i called and asked and was told that this is the part i need. so i call to return it...and of course because its eletronic i can not return it. And to top it off...the guy hung up on me...so even though they have had the best prices i could find...i will not be shopping on their site anymore.

So if anyone needs an eletronic box for a seadoo challenger vtec edition 1...$600 and its yours lol...

OK... question... Did you give them a part number, or did you give them Make/Model/year of your boat?

If you gave them a part number, it's your mistake. If you gave them Make/model/year... it's their mistake.

If it was their mistake, put it in a box with a UPS tracking number, and insure it for the full amount, and send it back to them. Then... make a dispute with your credit card company. You will get your money back. (you will loose the return shipping)

Yeah, that's crap. If it's their mistake, they should live with it. If it's yours, you live with it. I like Dr. Honda's answer.

I just bought some stuff from cyclepartsnation.com for my Sea-Doo because they had the best prices. I see that they are the same company/group of companies/web sites. Hopefully, I got my order right, since I did the part number lookups and ordered online. :)

x2 charge back esp if its amex you'll have NP.
One note don't send it back until you have confirmation from CC companay dispute is settled.

ya im working it with my bank. they wanted to get me the right part and charge a 35% restocking fee ($210) to return the wrong one. Dont think so. I am working it with my bank. Hope they can fix this...i think they will be able to. All I can say is if you call any of these places to make sure you get the right part (like they tell you to do) make sure you give them your HIN#. I was not asked for mine and told that the part i was getting was the right one. was not.

yeah, thats shi**y, bro...there fault, but you eat a stock'n fee. let them know, that you blasted them on a seadooforum, and the "word" is out.....:reddevil:

I got what I ordered from them exactly as I ordered. I ordered by P/N that I looked up on their web site. I'm not sure what conversations you had with them, but it sounds like things may have gotten heated (?). It also sounds like maybe you didn't have a chance to speak with a supervisor or someone else that you could explain that they ordered the wrong part, not you.

I received my order correctly as well...I ordered a reverse gate support...It was the least expensive I could find..

electrical parts can be tricky ans with seadoo so many off-screen updates, the bottom line is you received the incorrect part, if they keep insisting it is correct you need to let someone up the chain of command know you are saving them a boatload of problems until they fix the number problem.

ya my bank wont support the dispute so im going to have to eat the 35% restocking fee...lesson learned...make sure you give them your HIN...even if they dont ask.

Closing thread. PM me if you want to add anything.
