One last symptom I would like to address on my 97 XP

I just finished break-in of my rebuilt engine and carbs. Fuel lines replaced two years ago. raves cleaned and re-done. New plugs installed. Everything is running great thus far except for a little stumble going from idle to any speed. This only happens after idling for a few minutes. The longer it idles, the worse the stumble. It will come slightly off idle before the stumble. If I hold the throttle at the stumble point sometimes it will clear on its own and go, sometimes it will not. However, If I either slightly let off the throttle or slightly press the throttle more, it will clear and take of. It has done this since I have had this ski brand new. It got worse through the period of tempo hose deterioration, but is better than it has ever been now since the carbs have been rebuilt and it doesn't do it every time anymore. Any ideas on what to check for this problem?
 
Your just a tad rich... SO your pop-off is probably just SLIGHTLY too low. BUT... it's not enough to yank the carbs off. Just turn your low mix screws in about a 1/16th to an 1/8th of a turn, and I bet the problem will go away. (After the engine is warm)
 
A question in regards to adjusting the LS, is there a trick or any techniques you might can share on how to adjust these things? They are in a hard to reach and see place. Thought I would check for any tricks.
 
use a small screwdriver and a mirror. You will most likely need a flashlight as well. The PTO carb will require you to hold open the throttle. At least I find its easier to get to when you hold it open. I made a small tool with index marks on the side so I could feel around to do this job. I don't know why they couldn't have turned the carbs 90 degrees and put the HS on the bottom and the LS on top but that's they way they engineered it. Hope this helps.
