Hi friends,

Has anybody had a similar experience to me please? The safety feature on my new Seadoo 2011 model GTI 155 SE is that when powering it up I need to press the ON switch after which I have exactly 30 seconds to attach the Kill Switch tether and power the craft up. If I don't do this, the entire process needs to be repeated. I use my PWC for fishing in South Africa where we launch off beaches with large shore breaking waves. This cut off feature is very dangerous when sitting on the sand waiting for water with a big shore dump as the wait might be longer than 30seconds and one can't have the engine running on the sand. If a large wave arrives I need to jump on the PWC and start immediately without delay ( that means no time to be reattaching the kill switch tether)

Is there anyway in which I can remove this feature ? Any ideas welcomed ? that aside, it is an awesome craft with great features.

I honestly never heard of this, you cant hook up your lanyard first, then start it right away? Maybe i am not understanding you. Are you saying that if you leave the key in for 30 seconds without starting the doo, that it wont start? IF so, i guess its really a timing issue, as i dont think that there is any way around this(unless you someone installed a manual on/off switch to your dess post, keep the key in, and when you are ready to start the motors, hit the switch to the on position so the computer can read the DESS, which i dont know if its even possible to do that.)

I have my lanyard attached first. Hit the button once to wake it up, it beeps twice, then hit it again to start it.

Yes, a brand new ski and my dealer says it is a safety feature. So , I checked again now. If I attach lanyard , I can't simply start the ski. I need to press Start , wait for the display to boot up , then attach lanyard and wait for the beep beep , then I can start. If I don't start the ski at this point and wait too long , I need to repeat the entire procedure. When I am standing in the surf struggling to hold the nose of the ski straight this is incredibly frustrating. Thanks for your comment !

wow

that sucks, i have a 02, and there have been dozens of time's where i've needed to start it NOW, not in 30 seconds after playing the hokey pokey.
