On brand new Sea-Doo's - how often do you spray the OEM XPS Anti-Corrosive Lubricant?

I have 4 new Sea-Doo GTI's that are primarily used in Salt Water. I was told from one dealer that I need to buy the XPS Anti-Corrosive Lubricant and spray the entire engine and components pretty much every time I use them? Does anyone else do this or recommend this for a new ski? They told me to spray the engine, battery, metal, plastic, etc. - "You can't hurt it - be liberal with the spray". Gets pretty pricey with 4 skis... Anyone else think this is needed?

If I ride on salt water, I spray every time...

You can buy CRC Lube, it is a bit more affordable and relatively easy to find. Most auto parts store stock it.
CRC-556 I believe is the correct name. Just make sure you get the lube as they make many chemicals.

I spray the engine, wire harnesses without SOAKING the plug in areas but i do hit them. Impeller and drive shaft, ratchet tie downs, exposed metal on the trailer, winch gears and hooks. Maybe twice a season I try to do a VERY good cleaning of the battery and hoses with soapy water and rinse them off. I then spray most everything down with the lube at that point. Spraying the metal parts BEFORE the run really does help to protect them.

I spray XPS after every use on the metal engine parts, pump, intake. I also quickly wash the engine compartment the entire body, trailer and rinse after each salt trip.
Before buying my skis I looked at many others and would not buy them because they were corroded, pitted, etc. My skis look the same as when I bought them. You don't have to empty the entire can each time, quick pointed sprays towards those areas is plenty of spray.

Look for the XPS spray on Ebay you can get it cheaper than the dealer.

Thanks a lot for the information... I was already doing this but didn't know if I was 'over killing' it with every time I go out... But I will continue to do so as I like to baby things I buy ;-) How do you get to the impeller? Under the trailer?

I spray before i go to the water, afterwards i wash jt real good then spray again. And when i go out again, i spray it again. I use crc 656. $20 a gallon. I have never meet a person here that uses xps lube

Yep, just crawl under there and spray inside the intake grate and get the drive shafts too.

I only use the OEM XPS Lube because the dealer said if there was a warranty issue - BRP could void a warranty if BRP components or supplies (i.e. XPS Lube) is not used for maintenance. Obviously, I purchase the XPS from my dealer (and they want the business) - If a problem arose, they have record of this and could help with any claim.

I am probably being extreme about it and I know other lubricants may also work fine just didn't know if I wanted to take the chance on 4 new toys. But thanks for the information! I will be sure to look into CRC as it seems much cheaper! Thanks again!

They won't know you used another product. I worked at several car dealers and they always said that just to scare you
