HUH......i dont understand are you asking if the actual rave is supposed to face the carbs...or the rave caps????post a pic pointing at what your asking

NO that is not correct. The "TOP" should be facing the spark plugs. the bevel will be looking down

Brock , he means the "TOP" imprinted in the rave valve itself.

The "top" should be facing toward the plugs, so to speak......you might have them in backwards.

OK i got ya.....the TOP....part faces toward the spark plugs and the slot goes down....sorry for the misunderstanding

Yes, that is what I am speaking of. The "top" imprint on my raves is facing the carbs. What is the point of writing that on there? It seems very confusing? Could this be a reason I'm melting raves?

why would you put the TOP facing down to the carbs ...top means facing the TOP of the engine the raves are above the carbs so you would have to have put them in upside down and yes thats most likely your issue

im sorry, but how is anyone supposed to know that. The way that the 787 engine sits in the it is like at a 45 degree angle. The word "TOP" has hardly any meaning to it in correlation to the engine. When i got my ski that is the way they were in there so i just kept doing it that way

HAHA LOL ....I know im just messin with ya i actually did it the same way so i had to give you a hard time since everyone did to me when i posted the same issue so i feel for ya man...Just flip them over and you should be ok..My first seadoo was a 97 GSX and i took them out to clean them and i freaked out because i thought i broke something cuz i could see into the piston...I didnt know what a rave was.....live and learn huh...and as far as the engine sitting how it does I KNOW they might as well tyrn the dang thing upside down

on the 951, it only goes in one way ;)

but, you can put your left hand in (that's not the right one) and shake it all about ; )

I don't know Lou, I like to paint my housings an opposing color so folks can tell someone who cares has been there. I do put the mag side in right and the pto side up side down like that though(just kidding).

BTW, I found that nothing holds the bottom of the RAVE bellows like a Boss O-ring #914. This way your not trying to melt the zip tie hump.

I hope this is sarcasm.

yes and no reynolds, sorry, i was being a smartazz, didn't come out right, but at least know I said it with a friendly smile :)

but in my brain, the word top is always facing the sky, no if's and's or but's.

and duly noted: i've put one in backwards before because I didn't see the word "top" so heck i'm as dumb as they come, at least you noticed the words stamped on it hahah

anyway, i was out of line, i've asked my share and then some that made people scratch their heads, and for the most part they were patient with me, i should have done the same. not here to mock but rather to love this most addicting hobby

carry on :)
