Hello,

I have an oil leak at the oil tank. I removed the tank and was considering plastic welding the tank based on some other threads I had read. I found a piece of tubing loose in the tank that looks like it broke off from the inside possibly? Does anyone recognize the piece in the photo?

Also, I have read some conflicting threads about whether or not to change the oil filter and wether or not to bleed the system. Looking for advice in this area and if bleeding is needed what is the process?

The red fitting at the bottom of the tank is no longer available. Are there any concerns of reusing the old one?

Thank you

This is a picture of a 951 DI oil system. I believe that's the check valve (#3 in the picture). I've read they can sometimes break off and clogged the oil outlet on those engines. It looks like it's part of the filler neck, so I'd look at that assembly.

I have the 951 carb, and it doesn't have that check valve in the tank.
