Hey I finally got my ski back from my fuel tank recall today, got my new intake grate on, Fixed my trim, and hooked up the hose to let her purr. I noticed its leaking oil from the oil injection pump. I attached some pictures. What do you guys think is the culprit and how do I fix it? Or would it be easier to just saw screw it and premix. Its certainly getting oil in the motor I fouled out my plugs trying to start it at first and I can see it running through the lines. I just don't want it leaking into the hull especially at 45$ a gallon. Thanks again! pump 1.jpgpump 2.jpgpump 3.jpg

it appears to be leaking from the out lines (the top 2).

I'd find some small engine fuel lies from a local hardware store and install them. see if that fixes your leak.

It looks like they fit inside of some kind of housing? is this the case or do that just slide over a nipple like pretty much all the other lines do?

Get some 3/32" Tygon fuel line, ACE Hardware usually carries it, use small cable ties to secure the line the the pump outlets and to the injection nipples. Be sure to bleed the system, it would also be a good time to replace the oil filter.

To bleed the lines there is a 10 mm nut on the pump, unscrew it 1/4 turn until oil starts coming out. Then tighten it back up, do not overtighten then break very easily.

To get you old lines off that collar that is holding the lines on now is a split collar. If your lucky you can just give a good pull on the lines and they will pop off.
Also make sure you pump is synchronized properly by aligning the to marks as in picture, and put a new filter on it while your in there. If you are changing all the lines in the system here are the sizes.

See Lou, I got to use again.

That's how you bleed the tank to pump line. To fill the new lines from the pump to carbs:

Remove spark plugs.
Turn off fuel supply.
Hold throttle wide open.
Crank engine.

Once oil reaches the carbs, reinstall spark plugs.

Kicker: props on the good photos and labels.

It looks like its leakin from the bleeder screw and I think it 8mm. Make sure its SNUG not super tight. It's the rusty lookin nut on pump.

So the bleeder screw on mine was actually a 7mm..... and I snapped that thing right off. Am I totally screwed? I posted another thread about possibly just premixing but everyones recomendation was don't. Whats my next step here boys? Thanks again everyone for all the help.

Pull the pump off and see if you can unscrew the remainder with a flat blade screw driver, the tension is off the threads now. Then go to the dealer or buy just the bleed screw and washer and reuse your pump. You're like $10 into the hardware, why wouldn't you try the cheapest route first. Perhaps Minnetonka4me has a crap pump and will sell you just the bleed screw.

KEEP the oil injection! The ski runs better with it and plugs last longer and uses less oil and no figuring out how much oil to mix... It's a no brainer.

Lol this is another reason I love this forum. Thoughts that make sense in my head, are absolutely retarded in real life and I've got all you guys to help me realize it haha.

I agree with all of the above, it will be more work and cost to convert to premix then fix that screw.
Take your time, post a pic once your get it off.

Alright gentleman. In looking at my oil pump today, the culprit of the leak is most certainly the bleeder screw that I snapped off. I currently have 3/4 of a tank of premix. Is there and way I can just put a different bolt in the hole, If I can get the old one out? I know I wont be able to bleed the line but like I said I've got almost an entire tank of 40-1 to get the air bubles out for me. Im just wanting a quick fix for now because Id really like to ride hard this weekend with it being the holiday and all. Also Ive got a set of new plugs I'm planing on putting in once My premix is done and I'm back on just the pump.

Also, I have a 95 xp that currently isnt running for dick, would the bleeder screw from that work on my pump for my 96? I might just borrow it for the weekend.

well,i wouldn't run for that either,hahahahaha.
on my skis, looks like the screws are the same,,95xp/96xp,,good luck, hope u have fun this weekend!
