Newbie Needs Help! Constant Beeping. Not Heat Sensor.

I have a 1996 SPX. It runs great but there is a constant beeping noise only when the engine is started. The fuel gauge just stopped working and that is when the beeping started. All the red lights light up on the gauge constantly now including oil, temp, and gas but gauge no longer displays the fuel level. I am almost positive that moisture got in it.

My first question is there an easy fix for this? Something that will get that gauge working again and stop the beeping.

My MAIN concern is to stop the beeping. I have tried disconnecting the heat sensor and that did not work. I truly believe that it is something with the gauge sense the engine is cool after running and its not the heat sensor.

Is there a way to unplug the gauge so it no longer has power? I don't really care to remove it or replace it with a new one but i think this may stop the beeping. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also I would be open to disabling power to the buzzer also. Anything to stop the beeping. Your answers are greatly appreciated.

Since you have the multy function gauge, it will kick on the buzzer when it thinks it's out of oil. Since you gauge died, it's tripping the buzzer.

How would I go about disabling the gauge so it does not deep? Is there some cord I could pull or disconnect?

plug

u can unplug the oil level sensor, disconnecting it i think will register full, but i'm not 100% if that's accurate

If not, you could jump it I assume

or you could look for a used / new guage online.

beeping

the 'beeper' is inside your steering column...

u could either take it out of there, or trace the wire color to the other end, where I assume it plugs into something, and just unplug it... of course if your engine WAS to over heat, you'd never 'hear' it...
