2003 Utopian continous beeping at high RPM after changing alternator, belt

Hello,
First time posting here. My Utopia was put into the water for the first time in July. Started fine and engine was running well. After a few minutes, it started beeping at higher speeds. When I got into the dock and examined the engine, the alternator belt was shredded. I decided to replace the belt and while I was there also replaced the alternator. Being a cheapskate did not want to pay 1200 Cdn for a mercury so I replaced it with an appropiate aftermarket alternator and a mercury belt.

Took it out today, the boat starts fine and the engine runs really well until 4000 RPM is passed. As soon as it is passed, a continous beeping starts and then subsides once the engine if below 4000 RPM again.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated? Should I try the old altenator again? Purchase a new Merc alternator? Or could the loss of the alternator belt have caused another issue that needs to be fixed?

Compounding the problem is that none of the SeaDoo dealerships in the area I live in will service seadoo jetboats.

Thank You!!!
