New to waverunners

Hello all, I have a 2013 GTI 130 which has been running great till this past weekend where it started cavitating. I pulled it out the water and inspected the impeller which looked pretty good. Could it be the wear ring? Also, I noticed what I thought was more water than normal in the engine area. Any direction on that? Thank you.
 
I don’t have a lot of experience with carbon seals - my 2007 GTI SE at 300+ hours still has the original. But I know that a bad carbon seal will create some cavitation and excessive water in the hull. Sometimes people will put water in the hull from a hose and see if it leaks out of the wear ring.
The wear ring is more likely your issue and should be what you investigate first. Maybe something damaged the wear ring or it is just finally worn enough that you are cavitating.
