need some help with the info gauge for my 99 gsxl

ok here's my problem.

Last year I nailed the face of a wake going about 50 and flipped my ski ripping the hood off. In doing that I completely screwed up my gauge wiring. From looking around on the web I found that the 99 gtxl gauge should work on my ski (according to some people). The part # for the gauge that is on mine right now is 278001360 and the gtxl is 278001370. I found one dirt cheap, but there are some extra connectors. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if this will work on my ski, and I just need to leave some of them unplugged, or will this not work at all. Thanks for any help Kent

I can't guarantee it will work but I'm about 90% sure that it will. Most of the time it's a difference of length of the wiring, could be it has an LED for temp. or oil, or none, and some have useless functions like a compass, lake temp. But the basic functions, speed, RPM, hour meter, clock, chrono are all the same.

You might want to PM minnetonka4me and see it he has one, he's likely to have the exact match.

I'll give it a shot, for $50 if it doesn't work I can always just sell it to someone who needs it.

It will work, but the trim indicator isnt on the GTX gauge.

Our 02 doesn't have "Peak MPH" like our 99 does... what a stupid shame. why would they remove that!?
