I'm not sure what's going on with this boat. It runs great, with the exception of still maxing out at about 6500 rpms. Raves and carbs have been gone through again and good. Compression is great. I put 1 step colder plugs in to see how plug test went with them. No problems running them. I noticed the heat sensor "sticker" on the SBT engine is red. I think it's been that way for a couple of weeks. This obviously means engine got hotter than it's supposed to at one time or another or still is. I got no beeps at all. Seeing this sticker I decided to test sensor. I stuck a paper clip into the wire and grounded it to the neg battery post and head and didn't get a beep. I tried testing sensor as I read how to do on here and not sure if it's working or I'm doing it wrong.
So that leaves me with a couple of issues to be addressed.
Is the sensor working or not or is it in the wire which leads me to where to check next?
The engine obviously got hot. Now that sticker turning red usually means a cooling issue, correct? I have great water flow through the engine and I am always looking at the back of the boat for water flowing through the "tell-tale".
Any ideas?
Thanks
