being that this is my first post i wanted to introduce myself (Jason) and say hi to all. I purchased my first watercraft a week ago, 2011 seadoo gts 130 with 20 hours on it. I know nothing about watercrafts, don't have many friends with watercrafts, family never owned any. I did some research before my purchase so I had some idea of what to look for what not to look for. Something I discovered recently after my purchase that has me very worried. When I had the seller run it for me he turned on the garden hose before turning on the jet ski. Also when he turned it back off he left it running. Not knowing anything about the procedure for turning it on out of water I thought this was normal. Stumbling across the right way to do it I called and asked him just how many times he did this the wrong way. He said not that much but I don't no if I can believe that. Even still whats done is done and I already purchased it. It seems to run just fine, cranks right up with no issues. My question is what should I do from here? Any advice would help. Thanks.

take it out on the water, run it for a while, bring it back and flush it, start it up, turn on water, turn off water, rev it a couple times and shut it off ...

Chances are....if it fires right up and runs with "no issues"...it hasn't been hydro-locked. He may have gotten lucky and got the water turned off before back-filling the motor. I'd be looking at the oil for the "chocolate milk" look.

Of course...till I rode it and had it hold together after a wot run...I'd be worried.

YUP, If it is running OK for you, that's a good sign. If it was hydro-locked then it wouldn't start. but I would follow Griz's advice and run it to burn off any remaining water.

remember, no more than a few minutes (3-4) running on the hose.
