need help quick!!!

looking at buying 2006 challenger 180 and the owner said he would flush engine by removing a hose on the top of stainless exhaust comming off of engine. he said he did not run the engine while flushing. the engine runs but not sure if this may have done damage. any ideas?

It would depend on how long he flushed. When you turn on the water first, you have to have enough volume to fill your exhaust system before you overflow over the top loop into the engine. If he ran it afterwards, then he probably never flooded the engine with water. If he did, he'd have a hard time starting it. I'd pull the plugs to check for signs of water. Hopefully, he hasn't replaced them. When you put water in the cylinders, the engine will hydro lock and it's all but impossible to start.

It's not good practice to do that. I'd always recommend starting first before turning on the water.

You've already got a red flag here on this purchase. To me, this would mean, what else has he neglected to do for this boat?.......:cheers:
