My Kid's snake got out last night!

So... my kid has a tiny little Milk snake... and the wife is deathly scared of snakes. Well, this morning has been an hour of looking for a little snake, and listening to the wife cry, because it got out of it's cage.

Fun

Not important... but needed to say that.

I recently caught a 5 foot Black Snake in my shed. It's was kind of a funny story becasue not even 5 minutes before I found the snake, my oldest son who is 5 asked me "Dad, are snakes real?"

As he has never seen a snake before and we teach him things like, monsters are not real, ghosts are net real, etc. he wanted to know if snakes were real or not.

So a few minute after he asked this, I walk into my shed and the snake is sitting on a stack of junk staring right at me. I got to call my son over and show him first hand that snakes really are "real".

I eventually caught the snake after having to remove almost everything in my shed (snakes can squirm into the smallest of places) and both of my kids got a nice close up look of him.

Depending on how good of a sport your wife is this is a perfect opportunity to prank her with a fake snake in the bed... ;)

:nopity: put a heat pad in the corner of the room it was last seen in. Chances are it will be there in the morning

That's a good idea. I'll try it tonight. My real worry is that my house has floor A/C vents, and it went into one of them, and is now freezing to death.

Normally, I'm a cruel kind of guy... but this time, I have to be nice. When she found out that is escaped... she cried for about 20 minutes, and said she wasn't going to sleep in the house. (deathly scared)

Ha! This thread is ripe for a bunch of good material.

I'm just going to let it go though, kinda like missing a layup.

DH, hope you get the little bugger outta the house. Once, back when we were kids, we put two garter snakes together in a homemade wood and screen cage. Three weeks later, a bunch of baby snakes crawled through the screens and into the house. That was the end of pet snakes.

That'd give me nightmares for a while....

At least it wasn't spiders :ack:
