Your area correct on the bleeding of the oil lines, one side goes then the other. It does take a bit of time to get them fully bled, which could be hard on the starter if you are priming without it running. I fill the lines up with oil before I install them. If you do that the line need to be unhooked from the pump,

As promised, although I think I am the only one who may be interested...the ol gal seems to be running pretty good now. Here is a video...

(I cant seem to embed the video, somebody show me how from youtube)

So the detail with the starter solenoid. Here is what went down...

After getting the buzzing from the solenoid yesterday after installing the plugs and bleeding the oil lines, I left the ski untouched and charged the battery on the trickle charger all night. Tried to start it again, still buzzed. Took my solenoid off of my 787 gsx which i replaced last year with a brand new oem one, and after the swap it was still buzzing. Now I was puzzled, I thought for a second and thought the engine might be seized. I took the spark plugs out, grabbed the vicegrips and turned on the driveshaft. Low and behold it was caught up on something, and I wiggled it back and forth real quick for only a second, and it broke free. Im thinking it had to be something with the starter. Anyways, once I got it free, put the plugs back in and it started turning over like normal! Then pulled the choke, and after about 20 seconds of priming she fired up. Coughed quite a bit of smoke at the beginning, but it then started to run real good. After letting it run on the hose for a couple minutes, I swapped the old solenoid in there and it turned over fine now. Seems that I have gotten the rest of the running kinks out of it now, but only a water test will really tell, but I will say that it sounds MEAN and healthy on the stand. Spent a little bit of time after that cleaning it up a little, armor all'd the hood plastic and the thing looks mint now. Might do a waxjob on her and call it good, oh that and changing the jet pump oil. Here are a few more pics of it cleaned up...

Yeah, I was definitely excited, relieved, and surprised to hear it run, especially with such little trouble. Knock on wood its a good ski this year, ive pretty much made up my mind as soon as spring gets here and prices go up, im going to sell my GSX so I can have some cash when the right deal for a 95 or 96 XP 800 comes up for sale locally, I cant ever find any. I would be murdered if I brought home a 3rd ski LOL

Well i just realized that I never really gave any closure on the thread, but as of today this thing is finally DONE. I got my new decals in from Dr Honda just yesterday, and I put them on today. They look great. I skipped out on the dual colors with like dark purple, and now Im glad I did. I really like the black and yellow, and this pink and purple is killing me. If I get a few trouble free rides, I think im going to rip off the decals and throw up an all black set on there. I really think it would look killer, but I want to make sure it doesnt shoot craps first.

I also changed out the jet pump oil, damn that stuff was STANKY. The wear ring and impeller on this thing is PERFECT as well, so that is good. All in all she is back under the cover, ready to rip. Here is some pics of it all buffed out and the new reg decals on it

Congrats CR on a job well done. Looking real good, good luck with it, just need some warm weather now.

OH man with graphics that mint it sure would hurt to pull them off. Granted I also paid $300 to have graphics similar to stock as possible, so I'm a bit biased.
