The engine in my 1997 gti is shot and in need of replacement. I was wondering if it is possible to replace the 718cc with the bigger 782cc without any major changes. I was a little disappointed with the performance of the gti hence why i am wanting to upgrade. any incite is much appreciated. Thanks Adam.

not an easy swap, the engine mounts are completely different. almost nothing can be reused, complete swap with all electronics is necessary. I don't recommend it, just buy a 96 GTX or better yet, a 99 GTX, much faster.
