Hi everyone!

Brand new member, with an issue, of course! My 2007 Speedster 150 has loose seats. I just came off the water, and the middle seat almost blew out of the boat! I tried last year to re-screw those plastic grommets into the seat bottom, then push them back into the holes, but obviously that wasn't a cure. Is there any other way to attach them to avoid this problem in the future? Thanks in advance for any possible solutions!

Tough one....

That's a tough one. They may be coming loose from hard ridin. Like jumping waves etc...

Seems everywhere you look now days manafacturers are going to these cheaper solutions. They are'nt strong enough to for the application, but they won't rust.

Without seeing your problem first hand, in my head, I see me with this problem, of the seats kina bouncy, and think I'd probably remove it, clean the surfaces really good, then get 100% silicone and apply over the bottom area, then re-attach. Then, put a heavy weight on it. Let is sit for at least 24 hours before using.

It's a way of glueing something down, but having the ability to remove it later if you wanted to.

Just one of my hair brain ideas.

That's a nice boat! You could try replacing the plastic grommets with new ones... Perhaps they're worn from use and re-attaching them isn't good enough anymore.

If your boat is still under warranty, I would take it back to the dealer to have it resolved.

Thanks for everyone's input. Another thing I heard about since the original post was to try industrial-strength Velcro. I happened to have some (it's a lot wider than the usual velcro strips) so I gave it a try. So far, so good, but to be honest, I haven't run it under extreme conditions yet, but it seems like it will hold, and I can still get the seat out by just pulling up on it! Thanks again, everyone!
