looking to Trade a 2 up seat for a 3 up seat

Yes this may seam like a unusual request, but I need more room on my 2 up seadoo. so Im looking to trade my new 2 up seat for a 3 up seat I know it can be switched I just need the associated hardwear as well. Can anyone send me in the right directions to get this done ??

Can't just bolt on the stuff as the 3-up ski is regulated differently than the 2-up from the U.S. CG perspective.

You may want to look at an entry level ski such as the GTI. it is a true 3-seater where the 3-up may officially be a 3 seat ski it is a tight fit.

Unfortunately... without the little sticker that says... "3 persons or 450 LBS"... it's still not legal. I know, it sounds stupid, and there is a very high probability that if you get pulled over that the ranger won't even look. But the fact is... you can't just put the parts on.

I guess I'm assuming that you are trying to make a 3up ski?


Now... if you just want a bigger seat... just order one, since I doubt anyone will "Trade". (The 3 up needs the length)

I do agree that its not likely to find someone that wants to trade a 3 up for a 2 up seat(considering the 2up seat is $299 and the 3 up is over $500). Better luck just buying it but its over $500

That's all I want !! Just the longer seat will still keep it as a 2- up but with the 3 up seat that 's it simple , will not be riding around with three people as most of you said it's NOT a true 3 person seat... So do any of you think the BRP will sell me a 3 up seat and buy my 2 up seat back ??

I don't know if he has a private lake, but my job here IS to inject a little legal advice. So... it's not your place to call me out on that.

We get A LOT of people here who do things, and then bitch when they get busted. So, if I at least give him the info... it's up to the owner to decide if they want to do it or not. My favorite one is, we tell people to remove the Tempo hoses, and then they throw on the clear/colored hoses, and they get busted.

Regardless, that's why I ended it with "if you just want a bigger seat."

OK... I understand... a little more wiggle room. But... do I think they will buy back a "Used" seat?? No. But who knows... your local dealer may give you a discount using it as a trade. I know of a few dealers that do that with motorcycle seats. The reason is... they send the pan into companies like Corbin, to have custom seats done.

All I wanted was a few more inch's of seat THTAS IT my Spark is Brand New so my "seat" is not used!! Never been sat on. Unfortunately BRP will not swap me out ? So I'm looking for dealers to help me out, hell I'll pay the difference in price, that's not a problem, but no one out there is willing to do it for me. So my next question is Who wants to buy a 2-up seat for $275.00 USD bucks ??

Funny im looking for a 3 up extension, not to make it 3 up legal, just for more buoyancy when reboarding in deep water. Also im planning to add a true reboarding ladder and bolt it on to the "3 up extension" part of the spark.

Im feeling you friend, I wish my seat was bigger and more comfortable, after a couple of hours on the 2 up seat, its tiring, maybe I should have gotten a bigger ski.

Did you check out ebay? i seen the 3 up seat sold on there, also, you can just buy the 3 up seat, and place your seat for sale, i bet it would be sold in a couple of weeks.. let me find one for you, its not cheap its $529 but it can be done!:

From memory, I don't think my 3 up seat will fit on my 2 up.

After cleaning, there's been several times I put the seat on the wrong ski and I recall it wouldn't fit.

If anyone was able to get it to fit I can go fiddle with it as I could be wrong but I don't think they are switchable.
