I put the key on, there is a pause, then a loud long beep and nothing come up on the screen. When I put the key back on after a bunch of tries I get the double beep and everything is fine. It seems to do this when I go longer periods of time without using the ski.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

It does the same thing with the learners key.

I had this problem with my 2011 GTX until i learned that there is an optimal way to put the key on the post. The way I do it is i put it on from the bottom up in an upward motion.

1) Put the bottom part on the post with the key slated towards you, then
3) With an upward motion, push the key on the post.

Works every time for me. Hope that helps.

Clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. They get dirty and it seems to affect how well it can read.

I was having trouble with my key and I got it reprogrammed and now I don't have any problems.
