I just bought a 1998 Sea-Doo Challenger 1800. I really like it so far and its dry weight is about 1865 pounds. I tow it behind my 2007 Hummer H3 and it does really good towing it. I towed it about 3 hours from Indianapolis, Indiana to Louisville, Kentucky. I've been cleaning it up today. But I noticed when you put the gear handle (F,N,R handle) when I put it in forward it locks the left motor's handle that controls the speed to lock. If I try to push it forward while it is in forward it will not let me put it in neutral. But the right motor's speed handle will move no matter what. This all happened while the motor was off. Any suggestions? I know I didn't use advanced terms but I don't know what they are called. I just bought it. Thanks for the help.

We have a Challenger 2000 with a single Mercury engine. The throttle will not operate in neutral. It has to be in forward or reverse to increase the RPM.
