This your side business? I will let friends and family know you have all that.

My two kids kept on breaking their iPhones. So I watched MANY videos and bought the tools and gave it a try. First phone to me 4 hrs to complete as the screws got mixed into a pile and they are nearly all different...

Can change a screen easily in 20 minutes now. Then I expanded into playing with iPads. Buy them broken, figure out whats wrong and then fix them and sell them cheap.

It is more of a side hobby I think. I'm sitting on about 4 grand of stuff and just want to thin it out a bit so I can get my kitchen table back...

Thank you for anything you can do to help move them, I appreciate it.

Just a heads up!

You better dump those Ipad 2's QUICK. I just bought my in laws an iPad 2 16G WiFi for under $300 brand new. Wally World has them everyday now for $299 new and you can buy factory refurbs for $259 shipped to the store for free with a standard warranty. The one I bought I got at Best Buy since wally was sold out before the guy could blink he said, so BB price matches, then I threw the $20 in bonus credit I earned and was OTD for just $295.74 brand new. This was all because they bought an Apple TV box and thought they could work it with a laptop, enter the iPad. I think you could turn a better profit just fixing peoples stuff if you advertise on CL. A place by me charges $99 to replace an iPhone screen and I know those screens can be had for dirt cheap.

ya, i think apples is feeling the pressure of the influx of new/cheap tablets...

I still have an IPad 1, and for a sofa table gadget it works nicely, we pretty much only use it for quick IMDB searches and occasionally to check email or a quick ebay search, it probably gets fired up every other day for something simple.

Actually the 1's, 2's, have held their value amazingly well considering the pressure from the new pad's coming out, and the pressure from the android devices. I don't think the bottom is going to drop out on them anytime soon, I think they will hold pretty steady for some time, heck even the 1's still are holding pretty strong which is amazing !

I STILL like the apple products for some advantages, mainly picture quality and some convenience app's, but myself I've migrated to android as my preference, and our note 10.1 gets more use than the pad does, its our tablet "daily driver", but its mainly because of the HUGE advantage of the micro SD slot, I have a 64 gb card in two of our android devices, and a 32 gb in my wifes phone, and its SO nice to be able to dump massive amounts of data onto card and just pop it in. The picture quality still isn't up to apples standards (not even close actually) but i'd rather have 64 gb of video that I can drop in/out anytime than be limited to 16gb and have to use Itunes to move stuff back and forth.

Enough rambling....

Joe you have any Iphone 4S devices and what do they cost ballpark ? (at&t or unlocked)

my mom is thinking of finally breaking into the smart phone world and she's reluctant to buy it from at&t with all the new phone war's going on, and get locked in for 2 yrs, we'd rather have her just buy a phone outright and add a data plan, keep the flexibility of being able to migrate to a new phone service w/o contract hassles. (actually at&t is on my list of peeps to call this week to see if I can re-vamp my plan for the second time this year, my last phone call got me free unlimited txting for 6 months, all I had to do was say that "verison is SURE looking attractive !" and I was quickly moved to a "customer retention specialist"

Spin,
Yes, I have phones. What carrier are you looking for? Most of the 4s are near the 200 dollar range plus/minus about 20 bucks depending on size and what not.

I still own and use the iPad 1 version. In fact, typing on it right now...

Apple is NOT cheap, but it is very good. I hate that they cost so much but they perform so well...

at&t, or unlocked, even if we switch carriers, we're definitely staying with a sim card carrier, since there is no way we're going to swap 5 phones to a non sim provider.

and yes I agree 100% , apple is good but NOT cheap, and there's a reason they hold their value so well, although I swear I see cracked IPHONE screens everywhere I go.

it still amazes me to this day that they were able to get the product to sell so well with no SD slot, although granted they were pretty much superior in every other way to the alternates at the time. The gap is closing as far as advantages, but the screens are far superior still.

when we migrated my wife from the Ipad 1 to the samsung (because of the Sd) she basically said that the picture quality went from excellent to "prison quality TV" I still laugh when she says she watched a little prison TV at work last night.
