Install an intake grate??

Hey guys,

As some of you know, I'm about done installing my new engine in my 97 SPX 787...I'm strongly considering an intake grate to improve my rough water performance and decrease porpoising. It's hard to find one that fits my 97 SPX but there are tons for the 97 XP. Will the grate for the 97 XP fit my 97 SPX? The hulls look the same but I'm not sure about the other parts. I like this one here...any suggestions would be strongly appreciated. Thanks!!

The 97 SPX has an X-4 hull which is the same as the 96XP's and 98-99SPX's so intake grates are out there... Most anything that you can put on a 96XP will fit exactly on your ski!!! Try looking on the R&D Performance website, the intake grates are $130 or WORX Performance and theirs are around $160...
