I'm sure this is on the forums, but what oil is good to use?

I find it hard to believe there isn't an automotive equivalent, Amsoil?, to the Sea-Doo oil. I bet this has been asked a lot, but searching for "oil" doesn't return anything.

What say you, who have owned one of these ski's for more than a minute? A good site to order the filter/o-rings?

I have a 2016 GTR 215.

TIA!

How much did that ski cost you?? I have an 03 and 07 skis. I by the maintance kit $70 or so . So if the motor blows on a 2016 and they find other oil you could loose your warranty.

Just bite the bullet and use the BRP synthetic blend oil. It's not that expensive considering you bought a $14k machine and that's what came in it from the factory. When you change the oil, you only get about 3 quarts out in a 4.8 quart system so you always leave quite a bit behind.

If you have a SC, you do not want synthetic unless it Specifically states it is designed for SC.

You want Semi Synthetic in a SC ski.

If you're using a wet clutch compatible oil....nvm...too tired for this

Me too. Just use this, the BRP synthetic blend 4 stroke which is what came in it from the factory.

I got the ski with fire ext already installed, trailer with jack installed and two neoprene Sea-Doo vests for $13,400 OTD. BRP was having a special incentive that doubles the warranty to two years.

That is my intent. However, I was wondering if there's a compatible oil on local shelves in case of an "Oh-Crap!" moment. Unfortunately, I didn't think to buy any oil while I was picking up my ski last Saturday and with the tourist season kicking off in my neck of Florida, it's an hour drive, each way, to cover the 35 miles to my dealer.

There is one closer, but due to road and bridge construction on Hwy 331, it can take just as long to go to that dealer, if not longer. I'll just order the kit online and toss in an extra quart to keep in my truck.

Good to know. Thanks for that info!

With the exception of my first over priced 10hr dealer supplied oiled change with over priced seadoo oil....my ski has never had anything but Valvoline or yamalube 10w40 4 stroke motorcycle oil. Almost 9 yrs and 300 hrs later not a single prob with my running gear.

But...suit yourself. I'm sure the stealership will enjoy your visits.

with a 4 stroke... you really shouldn't expect an "oh crap" moment. Its not like a 2 stroke where if you have no oil you are sitting home.

I'd suggest saving yourself the drive and order some online, no way in hell i'm driving 2 hours round trip for oil, i'd spend $25 in gas doing it.

Exactly. Which is why I ordered online this morning. I HATE traffic with a passion. So it was an easy decision.

I just ordered 2 galls of the XPS myself from Amazon...

Yep. I LOVE Amazon. My wife is always telling me she wishes I liked to go shopping at stores the way I like to shop on Amazon. I'm like, "What store allows me to drink coffee, smoke and, be in my robe? WHILE having everything I'm interested in AND delivers it to my home for free? Tell me this store and we will be there right now!"

For some reason, she wasn't amused.

going to the store is a waist of time and gas let alone traffic frustration. i buy online then have time for other things
